ST. LOUIS — A woman was found dead Saturday morning on the shoulder of Interstate 70, shutting down eastbound lanes for two hours.
She was discovered on the right shoulder of eastbound I-70 near Grand Avenue about 8:40 a.m. Saturday.
She died at the scene. Her name had not been released, as of Monday morning.
51ºÚÁÏ police said she had injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle and had "been on the shoulder for an extended period of time."
The police accident-reconstruction unit is investigating.
The eastbound lanes of the highway were closed for about two hours before reopening around 11 a.m., according to the Missouri Department of Transportation.
