ST. LOUIS 鈥 Aldermanic President Megan Green said Friday she thinks Mayor Tishaura O. Jones has earned re-election to a second term this spring.聽
Green, a longtime ally of the mayor, said that while the city still has work to do, it has made significant progress under Jones.
鈥淎nyone who thinks that you can fix decades of dysfunction in the city in four years, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you,鈥 Green said.聽
She credited the mayor with moving the city forward on big upcoming projects like a new 911 dispatch center and a MetroLink line connecting the city鈥檚 north and south sides.聽
鈥淚 think we have a lot of great momentum going into the next four years,鈥 she said.聽
And Green said that momentum would be lost if Jones loses re-election to a challenger like Alderwoman Cara Spencer or Recorder of Deeds Michael Butler.聽
