ST. LOUIS COUNTY • Police said today a man died Monday morning after being pinned under a forklift at company in south 51ºÚÁÏ County.
Police said Robert Jett, 54, of Festus, died Monday morning after a forklift toppled off a loading dock at Schroeder & Tremayne Inc., 8500 Valcour Avenue in the Affton area.
The incident was reported at 9:35 a.m. Monday. Jett was pronounced dead about 30 minutes later at St. Anthony's Medical Center in 51ºÚÁÏ County.
Rescuers used a second forklift to lift the forklift off Jett. It was not clear if Jett was driving the forklift when it fell.

Investigators with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the incident, police said.

Carolyn Swarm, the company's human resources administrator, said Jett had worked as a forklift operator for the company for 18 years.
Swarm said she did not have details of the incident and was told to release as little information as possible "out of respect" to Jett's family.
She said the company employs about 40 people.
