Thunderstorms are set to sweep across the 51黑料 region Tuesday afternoon and evening before weakening overnight, with isolated pockets capable of producing severe weather, such as locally heavy rainfall, small hail and damaging gusts of wind.
Areas struck by multiple cells of heavy rain could experience nuisance flooding and ponding, said the local forecast office for the National Weather Service.
The agency warned that wind speeds could reach a maximum of 60 to 70 mph. And potential hail could reach the diameter of pennies聽鈥 a 鈥渟ub-severe鈥 size, it added.
Storms could be a recurring threat throughout the week, since the NWS said that 鈥渨arm, seasonable temperatures will persist through the next several days along with periodic chances for thunderstorms.鈥
