ST. LOUIS  • A 16-year-old boy was pronounced dead Tuesday night after he was shot in the back in the city's Penrose neighborhood, 51ºÚÁÏ police say.
Pierre Childs was shot just before 5 p.m. in the 4800 block of Anderson Avenue, police said. He was found unconscious and not breathing in the grass between the sidewalk and street. Childs was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police said a witness recalled seeing a group of people firing shots at Childs and others.
Shots were also fired in the same block of Anderson Avenue on Monday night.
In that incident, two males, ages 22 and 17, and a 27-year-old woman were sitting at a dining room table inside a home when they heard a knock at the door. Four people forced their way inside and one of them started arguing with the woman over missing money involving a drug transaction.
