COLUMBIA, Mo. — Missouri’s men’s basketball program tipped off the day of the sport’s national title game with a transfer portal move, reportedly landing a commitment from a guard.
Former UCLA player Sebastian Mack will transfer to Mizzou, he posted on social media, after two seasons with the Bruins.
Mack was a regular starter for UCLA during his freshman season but moved to a reserve role as the Bruins joined the Big Ten conference this year. He played 21 minutes per game for them in their recently ended season, scoring 9.6 points per game with 1.7 assists and 2.1 rebounds.
He’s not an especially prolific shooter from any part of the floor, finishing this season at 42.6% from the field, 31.4% from 3-point range and 74.3% from the free-throw line.
He is, however, efficient at drawing fouls and an impactful perimeter defender. That could make him a solid fit in MU’s system.

On Sunday, the Tigers reportedly added a reserve big man in Oklahoma’s Luke Northweather, a mid-Missouri product headed closer to home.
Northweather played 11.3 minutes per game for the Sooners this season, and won’t be expected to be a core piece of MU’s rotation. At 6-11, though, he will be another bit of size at coach Dennis Gates’ disposal.

Northweather starred at Blair Oaks High School, where he won Missouri Gatorade Player of the Year Honors in 2021-22.
Missouri now has lost two players to the transfer portal — forwards Marcus Allen and Aidan Shaw — and brought in three: Mack, Northweather and forward Jevon Porter. None of the portal signings have been confirmed or announced by the program.
The Tigers have two open roster spots remaining for next season. The transfer portal remains open for entries until April 23.
