COLUMBIA, Mo. — Monday mornings don’t get much better than this for a basketball program: Toni Bryant, a five-star power forward, verbally committed to Missouri men’s basketball on Monday, giving the Tigers their second five-star prospect in the 2026 class.
That’s a remarkable recruiting achievement for fourth-year coach Dennis Gates, who has two five stars in a class for the first time in program history.
Bryant had visited campus over the weekend, taking in the Border War football game between MU and Kansas. The program’s pitch evidently worked, given his quick commitment.
He is listed at 6-foot-9, 215 pounds, and ranked as the No. 21 player in 247Sports’ composite rankings. He’s also ranked as the fifth-best power forward in the 2026 class.
As one of the best prospects in his recruiting class, he’s drawn significant interest from national powerhouses like North Carolina, Kansas and Alabama — but chose MU.
Bryant is the third-highest-rated recruit in history to pick Missouri, behind only Michael Porter Jr. and fellow 2026 commit Jason Crowe Jr.
The duo of Bryant and Crowe, with 10 stars between them, puts Mizzou second in the nation in recruiting class rankings.
They’ll be able to sign their letters of intent in November.
