Mizzou administration approves extension for Eli Drinkwitz, now awaiting signature
COLUMBIA, Mo. — University of Missouri administration greenlit a proposed contract extension for football coach Eli Drinkwitz on Wednesday, a source familiar with ongoing discussions told the Post-Dispatch.
The UM System Board of Curators met in closed session Wednesday afternoon to discuss the proposed terms, paving the road for a new long-term deal for the sixth-year coach.

Hoff: Is Mizzou's offense 'predictable?' I calculated playcalling tendencies to find out.
COLUMBIA, Mo. — You’re a defensive coordinator, calling plays against the Missouri offense. The Tigers want to move the ball and score. You need to stop them.
Mizzou has a first-and-10 to start its drive, backed up inside its own 20-yard line, so you like your chances. You have a very good idea of what’s coming. The Tigers run the ball 83.3% of the time in this situation, so you call a play that packs the area around the line of scrimmage with defenders. MU’s Ahmad Hardy is very good, but your play call — your research — was better.

Arkansas' QB question, field goal operation, local tailbacks on top: Mizzou football notes
COLUMBIA, Mo. — Does Arkansas have a quarterback conundrum?
There’s only one game left in the Razorbacks’ dismal season, yet the Hogs are still willing to tinker with their signal-calling situation even with an interim coaching staff holding down the fort.

Has Mizzou football wasted an elite defense this season?
COLUMBIA, Mo. — The refrain has been a common one after Missouri’s past three defeats: an ode to the defense propping up the Tigers, a lamentation for the lack of support it has received from the offensive and special teams units.
It’s a familiar, mournful tune. Mizzou loses, the defense gets its rightful due and it all just feels like another form of a missed opportunity.

Mizzou football snapshots: Snap counts, PFF grades from loss to Oklahoma
Missouri and Oklahoma have played each other in football 98 times. Saturday's 17-6 result in favor of the Sooners was... certainly one of them.Â
The drab game more or less sealed Oklahoma's spot in the College Football Playoff while reminding the Tigers that they have a CFP-caliber defense but little else.

A quarterback who suffered a serious injury and missed a couple of games earlier in the season back in action and playing well during college football’s penultimate weekend of the regular season. His surgeon was even in attendance to see his handiwork sling a football.

NORMAN, Okla. — Maybe it’s this place, which they call the Palace on the Prairie, that is so unimpeachably impossible to win inside. Maybe it’s this team, with an inconsistent offense that finds inopportune times to miss opportunities, that isn’t equipped to win games like this.
