In order to salvage a split of their four-game series at Milwaukee, the Cardinals need to reverse two trends.
The Cardinals and Brewers square off Sunday at 1:10 p.m. in the finale. 51ºÚÁÏ won 8-5 on Saturday to snap a six-game skid.
Right-hander Miles Mikolas (4-3, 4.48 ERA)Â starts Sunday for the Cardinals. Two of his three worst outings of the season have come in recent games.
He allowed six earned runs in five innings vs. Toronto in a loss Tuesday, but as he said after that game, Mikolas believes he was the victim of some bad luck at times.
Some of the underlying Statcast data backs that assertion. Mikolas yielded a lower hard-hit rate (36%) in that game than his season average (42%).

Over his last three starts, opponents are hitting .377, which is worst in baseball by a wide margin for qualified starters since May 28.
On Saturday, the Cardinals' bats showed glimpses of the other turnaround the team needs, scoring eight runs, which is double what 51ºÚÁÏ scored in total in the prior three games.
Despite that, the Redbirds' offense has performed far worse this month than any one prior.
51ºÚÁÏ ranked in the top 11 of baseball in both runs scored and on-base percentage in each of the first two months of the season.
In June, however, the Cardinals are in the bottom third.Â
For the season, 51ºÚÁÏ is in the bottom third in hard-hit rate and number of barrels per plate appearance, but this month the team has struck out a bit more, walked a bit less and been a bit less lucky on balls in play.
The Brewers start right-hander Quinn Priester (4-2, 3.65 ERA), who gave up five earned runs in five innings earlier this season in his only career outing vs. the Cardinals.
The Cardinals are 37-34, third in the National League Central.Â
The Brewers are 38-34, second in the division.
Brendan Donovan returns
Leading hitter Brendan Donovan is back in the Cardinals' lineup for the first time since Tuesday after dealing with turf toe.
