The 51ºÚÁÏ County Council on Tuesday approved a 9% cut in spending from the county's four major operating funds, cementing deeper reductions than County Executive Sam Page had sought for next year.

Page said in a statement Thursday morning that "too many leaders have forgotten that courage means standing up for what's right."
