All-Metro boys basketball first team

Scottie Adkinson, Webster Groves
The Post-Dispatch All-Metro player of the year was a whirling dervish who helped lead the Statesmen to the sixth state championship in program history. The 6-foot-2 combo guard was named Missouri's Gatorade player of the year, Class 5 player of the year and the Suburban Conference Yellow Pool player of the year. Adkinson was fourth in the area in scoring average at 24.5 points a game. He scored a career-high 43 points in a win over Class 6 runner-up Chaminade on Feb. 22. He was second on the team with 185 rebounds, averaging 5.8 a game, and led the team in assists (112) and steals (70). In the Class 5 semifinal and state championship games, he totaled 59 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists.

Quentin Coleman, Principia
One of the best rebounding guards in the area, Coleman helped Principia to the first state championship in program history. Voted as the Class 3 player of the year by Missouri coaches, the 6-foot-3 junior ripped down a team-high 209 rebounds, averaging 6.5 a game. He led the Panthers in scoring with an average of 19.4 points a game. He scored a season-high 34 points in a conference contest against John Burroughs. He also dished out a team-leading 111 assists to help guide an offense to an average of over 74 points per game. Coleman helped the Panthers notch a program-record 31 wins and was voted Metro League player of the year.

Zyree Collins, St. Mary鈥檚
The 2024 Post-Dispatch聽All-Metro player didn't disappoint in his final high school season. The 6-foot guard was the area's second-leading scorer at 31.7 points a game. He scored 40 or more points seven different times with a season-high 45 coming in a win over Evansville Reitz out of Indiana. Collins has two of the three top single-season scoring records at St. Mary's. In four seasons, Collins scored 2,713 points. The Austin Peay commit was voted as an all-state player in Class 5 and helped the Dragons to 17 wins, including nine in their final 10 games. He was also the team leader with 134 assists and pulled down 144 rebounds. He also had 67 steals.

Luke Walsh, Vianney
A repeat Post-Dispatch All-Metro first team selection, Walsh was the Metro Catholic Conference player of the year and scored a staggering 934 points for an average of 32.2 per game. The 6-foot-2 guard and SIU Carbondale signee was the first area athlete to score more than 900 points in a season since Chaminade's Bradley Beal scored 909 in the 2010-11 season. Walsh's 129 3-pointers led the area. In last two seasons, Walsh scored 1,645 points and finished with a program-record 2,614 career points scored. Voted as a Class 5 all-state player, Walsh helped the Golden Griffins to a district runner-up finish behind Webster Groves. He was tied for a team-high 141 rebounds, dished out 88 assists and had a team-high 73 steals.

Trey Williams Jr., Vashon
A four-time state champion at Vashon who has signed with Missouri State, Williams was one of the best shooters in the state and helped Wolverines to their sixth consecutive state championship. Williams, the Class 4 player of the year as voted by Missouri basketball coaches, led Vashon in scoring with 17 points a game and finished with 493 points. He had a season-high 30 points in a nonconference victory over Millard North (Neb.). The long-range sniper hit 97 3-pointers at a nearly 49 percent rate. He is one of five area athletes to hit 95 or more three-pointers this season. He had a team-high 88 assists and picked off 36 steals. In addition to four championships, Williams helped the Wolverines to 104 wins in four seasons.
All-Metro boys basketball second team
All-Metro football offensive player also was a standout on the hardwood and powered Crusaders to Class 2A runner-up finish. All-state selection in Class 2A by Illinois coaches. 6-foot guard averaged 14.9 points, led team with 7.1 rebounds per game. Dished out 117 assists, led team with 74 steals. Signed with Oregon to play football.
A 6-foot senior guard who has signed with Quincy University, Martin led Tigers to 28 wins, their most since the 2016-17 season, and the Southwestern Conference title. Led team with 20.5 points and 3.7 assists per game and averaged 4.9 rebounds. Class 4A second team all-state by Illinois coaches.聽
The 6-foot-2 guard was second on team with 13.2 points per game as Wolverines won their sixth consecutive state championship. Also averaged 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 assists. Class 4 all-state selection by Missouri's coaches, McKinney Jr. scored 14 points and pulled down six rebounds in state title game.
The 6-foot-3 guard helped Wildcats to 25 victories and a third-place finish in Class 5 state tournament after reaching first final four since 2021. Class 5 all-state selection led team with 16.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. He also had 89 assists, 45 steals and 11 blocks. Scored career-high 29 points in district title game win over John Burroughs.
Led Bombers with 16.8 points and 2.7 blocks per game and also averaged 9 rebounds. The 6-foot-9 forward was a Class 5 all-state selection by Missouri coaches and a first team All-Metro League selection while helping the Bombers to their third successive 20-win season. Scored in double figures in all but four games.
All-Metro boys basketball third team
Premier point guard with 8.04 assists per game that was highest average among area athletes since Roosevelt's Kameron Davis averaged 8.18 during 2020-21 season. The Class 6 all-stater also averaged 23.6 points and 4.5 rebounds a game while leading Wolves to GAC Central title.
A Class 2A first-team all-state selection by Illinois coaches, Donald was driving factor behind a 26-win season for Eagles. Bellarmine University signee led Columbia in multiple categories, including averages of 16.3 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. Also had team-best 32 blocks.
A Class 6 all-state player, Massey was integral piece as De Smet earned share of Metro Catholic Conference title. The 6-foot-3 guard was second on team with averages of 12.7 points and 6.1 rebounds per game along with team-leading 4.3 assists. North Dakota State signee led team with 41 steals.聽
The 6-foot-2 guard exploded onto the scene this year and helped Alton win its first regional title since 2018-19 season. Illinois coaches selected him as a Class 4A all-state third-teamer. Stampley led the Redbirds in scoring at 18.8 points a game, and he drilled 99 3-pointers.
Helped Red Devils to second successive Class 6 runner-up finish. A 6-foot-7 forward, White was selected as a Class 6 all-state player by Missouri coaches and was first team all-Metro Catholic Conference. In MCC games, averaged 15.8 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists.
