I was appalled to read the article about the destruction of 19 adult geese in Brentwood Park and the "humane" removal of their hatchlings. ("Adult geese captured at Brentwood Park and killed over poop, damage concerns," June 23.). The geese's crime? Too much pooping and following their natural instincts to protect their young.
Nature is fun to be in until it gets in the way, like the pokey spring baby mammals and turtles too slow to get out of from in front of our cars.
As the potty training song aptly states, "Everybody Poops" — and Brentwood officials really stepped in it this time.
Geese will return, so those officials better have a long-term plan to further eradicate them from their "natural" park.

An additional caution: Other birds poop as well. Cardinals may also sing too loud for some people. Let's go after them, too.
